Choosing a Local Builder for Your Midwest Pole Barn or Garage
If you are planning to build a pole barn, garage, or livestock shelter in the Midwest, there is no shortage of companies to choose from. National brands and online builders may seem convenient, but when it comes to getting the job done right, local matters.
At Graber Custom Structures, we are not a big box builder. We are a family owned company based in Jamesport, Missouri, serving our neighbors across southern Iowa, eastern Kansas, northern Missouri, and surrounding areas. We build custom structures designed for Midwest weather and Midwest people.
Here is why working with a local team like ours makes all the difference.
You’ll Work Directly With the Builder; Not Just a Salesperson in Another State
When you reach out to Graber Custom Structures, you won’t get handed off to a rotating call center or pressured by a corporate sales team. Instead, you’ll get a personal connection to people who know the land, the codes, and the work it takes to build something that lasts.
Alton, our barndominium specialist, at work in Jamesport, Missouri. With over 35 years in the building industry, he’s always ready to talk through your project and provide a quote.

We Know Midwestern Dirt, Wind, and Building Codes
When you build with a national company, you risk working with someone who’s never stepped foot in your county. We live and work right here in the Midwest, and we build every structure to stand up to our unique terrain and climate.
High wind zones in flat country? We know them.
Snow loads? We build for them.
Grading issues or access concerns in rural counties? We’ve dealt with it all.
We also coordinate permitting with local counties, so you’re not left guessing what’s allowed on your property. We’ve walked this process hundreds of times; and we’ll walk it with you.
Our Name Is on Every Building We Build
We take pride in every structure we put up; because this isn’t just business for us. It’s our family name, and our kids are growing up in this community.
That means we build with:
- Honesty
- Quality craftsmanship
- Customer-first service
- Mutual Respect
- Attention to Detail
And if something’s not right? You don’t have to go through layers of corporate red tape; you can call us, and we’ll fix it.
Many of our builds come from repeat customers and referrals; because people know we’ll show up, do what we say, and stand behind our work.
We Build What We Show
Every project in our gallery is real work by our crew; not a stock image or manufacturer sample.
From garages to shelters to full finish barndominiums, we’re proud of what we build; and you can see the difference in every photo.
You Deserve to Work With a Team That Actually Listens
Whether you’re ready to build now or just starting to plan, we’re here to talk through the options, walk with you through the process, and give you a quote you can actually trust.
We’re not chasing the sale. We’re building relationships one custom structure at a time.
